A strong left-to-right wind held up everything hit to left and made Notty more of a pitchers park than it usually is. Although the wind did its best to blow balls out of the strike zone the pitchers were able to adjust and make strikes. Jake and Clem were able to put up a run in the third with a combination of walks and a double to center. From there on in it was all pitching.
Glen, Jake and Clem were all able to hit their spots with the fastball and left nothing to chance. They took advantage of the 12-pace mound and threw blistering heat that no-one could get around on.
In the top of the seventh Glen led off with a single of the 3rd base foul bucket. Jake followed with a triple and homer, capitalizing on mistake pitches by Gus and hitting them to Notty's sweet spot in center.
In the bottom of the seventh the home team was able to load the bases and bring the tying run to the plate, but this was not their day. Final: 4-0.
The victors had won the early game as well, 16-7 in short innings.
